GWS Coursair Question - Power
I just purchessed the GWS F4U. I have a brushless outrunner from a art-tech christen eagle (1000 kv)
Would this make a good alternative to the stock motor? If so what prop would be best ?

Assuming you're using a 3-cell LiPo, should work. I'd try a 9x6 or 10x5, assuming the landing gear is long enough (or you leave it off).

Will it fit inside the fuse ? Look at RC Groups for much about that model. Many people have used a low cost BP21 for it

I just got my maiden flight on the coursair The outrunner worked out great. I tried it with the stock setup and a hard time getting any air under the plane, after strugling at 5 or so feet for about a min. I set it down and removed the stock motor.

Cool. What is the diameter of the bell ? Got a pic of the motor, mount , stick and prop ?
I would not mind doing the same thing myself.
Thanks

I'll post some pics later, I just cut some light ply to fit the end of the body and epoxyed it. Then I centered the outrunner and screwed it in place. This was an art-tech outrunner 1000 kv i think. It provides plenty of power with a 10x7 prop. I also drilled a good size hole above the motor to provide air flow for the esc.
