Default E-Flite P-47D

Well it's good to be home! Just got done with Air Force basic training! What an exciting 7 weeks it's been! Anyways, now that I have a little cash to spend it's time to buy myself a new toy! I've been lustering over the E-Flite P-47D Thunderbolt for some time now. I was wondering if this aircraft is a worthy parkflyer. I'm wanting to keep the stock 400 motor set-up, so I was wanting to know if anyone has flown this kit with the included motor. Also, I have been trying to decide if I should install the optional rudder. So If anyone could give me some insight on this kit and it's flight characteristics that would be great! Thanks

pretty sure you are not going to find one. i got one of the last ones i could find a little over a year ago. i did fly it with the stock motor for a while and the performance was dismal, to say the least. very long take off runs (almost a whole baseball diamond) and sickly flying characteristics. i did not install the rudder, but still might......mainly because i like to taxi the planes back from their landings. i upgraded to a brushless motor and it flies pretty well....although it takes a lot of weight to balance it and it is still a bit of a heavy model. hope you can find one, maybe there is one on the shelf at some hobby store nearby? it does look very cool and scale as you fly it around, and it's stable and easy to fly.

thank you for your service! welcome home from your training! rob
