This little plane is the best plane you can get for $60 IMO. It comes with the plane, the battary, and a charger. It even comes with the battaries for the transmitter! This plane flies great and I would definetly recomend it. This is the thread for us to discuss or firebid phantoms and for people to ask question.Happy posting!

I got one for my son based on the success of my Firebird Commander 2. He has not had a successful flight with it yet because we have not had too many calm enough days to fly. Now my Commander 2, that thing is indestructable and if the Phantom is half as durable as my Commander 2, my son will do just fine learning to fly.

Great, I havevnt crashed it yet(knock on wood
) but it feels pretty durable. I definetly recommend doing nightflyer(from youtube)mads for extra durabitlity.

just dont move in the control horns yet because he might crash due to to much turning, also dont use the ACT, if you fly over light coloered sand or whatever it can cause a crash. I dont use it but this is what I have heard. welcome to the thread[8D]

Thanks for the welcome. Yeah, the Commander 2 was my refresher plane getting back into the hobby. I have crashed that thing into buildings, boats, cars, the ground. Once it even spent the night in the top of a tall oak tree, enduring a thunderstorm. I got it down the next day, dried off the circuit board, put in a new battery connector, charged the battery and she flies again. It has since been relegated to being a fun toy, something to keep around to get others interested in the hobby.

Does anybody know if the original Firebird and Firebird II are the same plane as the Phantom? I know the Firebird comes in several flavors now, but which is closest to these older versions?

the eBay ones went for more than I was willing to bid. They still went for cheap, but I wan't convinced they were what I needed. I figured if I got them for my low bid, then what the heck.

oday1395- Have you been getting any more sorties on the Phantom? I think over the Thanksgiving weekend if the weather is nice I will take the boy out with his and get him in the air. Just thought I would check in and see how you are doing with it.

Hi all,
I am pretty new to RC flying but I am very knowledgable in the aviation world. I work with Business jets and planes and have been doing so for 10 years including 4 year stretch of F-14 tomcat mechanics in the Navy. I am also a certified A/P mechanic.[8D]
Anyway, I just picked up one of these Phantoms today and I bought it to train myself so I can fly a Park Zone T-28 Trojan RTF I received in a trade. It has a Spektrum DX6i installed in it so I want to learn before I fly alot of money around aimlessly!
Any advice on this little baby?
