Default Easy Hawk Battery question

Ihave the Easy Hawk, and absolutely love it. I've done some minor modifications to the second one Iown including additions to the rudder and elevators to give them more effect. I also put a slightly larger but thinner prop on, and WOW what a difference the prop made.

I am not having luck however with getting another battery. Any idea where Ican get a 8.4 v 1300 mAH ni-MH replacement? Thanks so much.

It sounds to me like you have an old 7 X 'AA' pack.  New 'AA's can be found up to 2450 mAh, so chances are that any 7 cell 'AA' pack will be roughly the same weight but with greater capacity.  Watch out for the configuration whwn ordering one, because you can get either a 'flat' 7 cell or two different styles of  '4+3' configuration.

Hi Bruce,
Thanks so much. It is the old aa set, with 4 and 3. Can the Wild Hawk handle a battery with more mAh? I'm pretty new to the RC world and don't want to get something that will fry the plane.

No problem using any battery capacity; you could use a 5000 mAh pack if it were light enough!.  The only effect of a greater capacity pack is more weight and/or longer flight times.  It's the voltage you need to watch as too high a vottage can pump too much current through the motor, compromising the ESC, the motor, or both.
