Finally, I called the LHS and go ahead and cancel my e-starter order.. she said it was in so I picked it up today!

I know the feeling. I am going through withdrawals myself. I am having some problems learning how to fly my Wattage Super Decathlon. That plane is a hand full.
On top of that my Tiger Moth is currently out of commission as well. Last weekend I put it in during a loop, that was just a shade bit too close to the ground. ugh. I ordered my replacement wing set with the balsa strut kit. The TM should be a better bird when its put back together.

hey hemna, I know that feeling too.. and my crazy max was so much of a "handful" that I only flew it once, it just hangs in a room now, it was no fun at all,.... I gave up on Wattage after my mini max flew through a chain link fence (that was my fault though it was too windy), but I just like the GWS line better...Rog

Hey gang, I'm new to the forum,but not to R/C. I switched from gas to electrics earlier this summer.
I just flew my E-starter for the first time,yesterday. I purchased a re-wound 370 motor for it,thinking it might be underpowered. I also replaced the rudder and elevator (the movable surfaces) with larger balsa ones hoping to get more response out of the plane as I decided not to use ailerons on this model. I have Dubro foam wheels, E-Tech 1200's x2,pixe7p HS-55' servo's,berg receiver and as much weight paired off of the plane as possible. I used the 10x8 prop yesterday. How did it fly? Well let me say this,I would never,ever, suggest this plane to a beginner. It took off at 20 mph and at 1/3 throttle it was going nearly 40 MPH! I throttled up and blew by my flying partner at nearly 60! It is a big handful,even when throttled back.

What did you all do about the landing gear, mine seems to be to weak to support the plane - help??

Air dog,I bought some music wire at the local hobby shop, about .090" thick and just slightly smaller in diameter than the wire it came with.The Dubro foam wheels are little softer than the GWS wheels. I had read earlier posts on this forum about the gear problem,so I used liberal amounts of epoxy when securing the landing gear mount.I also made small perforations in the Styrofoam,before I put the gear mount in place.

Were you surprised by how fast this plane fly's ?

I just received a tiger moth that needs some T.L.C.
In need of wings , tail feathers ,& landing gear . does anyone know if all parts are available off the shelf ( like the aerobird ) ? Thanks .. JIM

The balsa strut kit is very nicely done. All laser cut parts. I can't wait to get the bird back in the air.

The smaller the better. The Pico and Pico+ servos are good for the Moth or any servos around 6 grams, 9 gram servos are on the heavy side but usable especially if going dual IPS.
I just got my 4 cell Kan 650's from Robotic Power Solutions so in will go my dual IPS.
