This guy seems to charge way to much for stuff. 1800 dollars for this plane?

Then, um...don't buy it?

Or maybe make him an offer you consider to be more fair

Just wondering if anyone has bought from him and why 1800 for a kit that has to cut the wing in half to ship and has a broken wing for 1800 dollars

I have bought several kits from him. He is very reliable. Prices may seem high, but Japanese professional builders were getting $2500+ for built pattern ships in the '80s. The prices have escalated significantly since then. 2 meter Oxai airplanes are typically in the $5,000 range and those are factory built. Naruke Hobbies will build you an Ascent (Naruke's latest design): ARC - $2400 US dollars;
RTF - $5300. Shipping is extra. Other Japanese builders charge more (7-10,000 for all wood airplanes) IF they will build for you.
The Ten Plus Aurora (factory built back in the early '90s) cost $1,000.

Its an aquired taste. You know how many MK built kits are left in good condition? perhaps less than a handful. What this guys sells is gold, and it has a price. Plus, you save the shipping Intl cost because he flies in and out of US from Japan.

Would I spend that much $ on a classic pattern airplane, NO, but I'm sure someone will.
