If you look close you can see both have counter balance in ruder and elevator they are almost twin
The kit spec: Edge 540p Top Cap
Wingspan: 48" 44.5"
Wing Area: 768 sq in 690 sq in Length: 46.5" 46"
Approx. Weight: 4 lbs 4 - 4.5 lbs
cost: $60 $99.95
in their web site don't specified the wing loading but if I am correct the edge have 9 to 10oz and the Top Cap have 13oz wing loading

I have only flown the Edge and think it's the "Cat's".
RC_Junky what you refer.
And how is the performance. I have saito .72 to hover the edge

What I mean is that I think the Edge is one awesome flying machine. The plane will fly good with almost any engine, I've had a MVVS .40 & a TT Pro .46 on them and they flew good. They would do anything in the book and more which was fine, then some guys on this forum turned me on to using a 4 stroke (Saito .72) and what a difference. It's like your flying skills are taken to a new level instantly. When you get this combo dialed in and you're flying you'll find yourself looking up and down the flight line woundering who's flying my plane, he sure is good.

One person say: The fuse is more built up, even around the wing which would have me thinking it's not as strong as the Extra Special's fuse

A couple weeks ago two friends, my son and I were flying together.
The friends have top cap's and we have 540p's. We traded planes to see what the difference might be. The top caps would do any thing you wanted but the edges would do it a lot slower. The wing on the edge is thicker than the top cap. This seems to be why the edge will fly slower. If we tryed to land the top cap as slow as the edge it would fall out a lot sooner. It didn't matter who was flying what. They were both a lot of fun to fly.

No real reason, just used to putting them there on all my slope combat planes. That way on the slopers you don't rip the servo gears out of the aileron servoes.

Theres been alot of talk about both planes. I have owned both planes and although the top cap is extremely capable, and the arf is a good value at about 139.00 street, I must say that the Aces 1 Edge profile is the better plane. Recovery from any attitude is absolutely instant. Flatspins to 3 feet are easy. Flatspin to landing only slightly harder. I truly believe that anyone who has flown both would have to say the same.
