YeeHaww I got to test fly my sledge today. All went well. I love knife edgeing harriering this plane. I even did a few Knife edge elevators that scared the piss out of me. Anyway, Just a few questions about setup. Where are you guys setting you ailerons for neutral at? Did you need any downthrust. I put in some right thrust which seemed just about right, but in a vertical climb it would pull to the canapy. Also in a hover she wanted to fall to the canopy. I can try playing with my airleron settings first and then if nessacary add some down thrust. Any setup tips you guys have other than that? Thanks
Jason

I'm running an OS .46fx with a 12.25x3.75 apc. That combo works great for me. I'll play with it and see what happens. I'm very happy with my sledge. Already I'm flying better 3D than I was with my Extreme 330. It's nice to be able to do stuff other than hover. That extreme has some major coupleing going on in knife edge. With the sledge I can now practice those rolling harriers I've been wanting to do.

Flyboone, how does she do in KE flight? Mine wanted to pull toward the canopy pretty hard at first, then I lowered one aileron and retrimmed ailerons and elevator. Basically just trying to see if I had a hair of reflex in my ailerons. That alone made a huge difference in how it flew and how the elevator was trimmed. And by looking down my ailerons before you couldnt tell that it had any reflex what so ever. But she now tracks straight with almost no pull either way in a KE. That was one of Jeff Williams observations the first time he flew it (the noticable pull to the canopy). Snd seeing how sensitive this adjustment can be I'd have to say that its real easy to come out with just a hair of reflex or flaps unintentionally.
Oh and Flyboone, Ive been inspired to slap together a Spad3D after watching yours fly down in Nashville. I meant to introduce myself and see if I could bum a flight off you just to see how they do fly.

I'll try and get some pics at the funfly next saterday.
Tailspnr- thanks for input. I'm taking her out agian today and I'll try dailing her in. It did pull slightly towards the canopy in KE. I made some adjustments to the thrust line and the ailerons so I'll see how it plays out. You would have been more than welcome to fly any of my planes at Nashville. You should of asked before Hacker, Kevin, Wayne, and I decided to get into a little combat though. Wayne and I really had a good midair, but I think he got the worst end of it. Just build that Spa3d per the plans and you'll have a blast with it.
PinHead- You bringing the new OMP to Bryson City? I should be there on the 5th.

3 busted servos, broken antenna, busted motor. Totally worth it though.
Lots of fun. I knew that plane wasnt coming home intact.

Flyboone, Im sure the little adjustments you made to the ailerons alone would have dialed out the pulling towards the canopy. One thing I noticed about mine is when Im hovering or TR'ing I usually have to hold a little bit of back or up elevator, but Ive just kinda gotten used to dealing with that, and I guess down thrust would'nt help that either.
You know you right Chuck...I mean Crash Monger. Either bummed the flight first or introduced myself by my real name Quique[:-].
Now go back into the woods and wait for your next victim

Looks good Jason. Glad to hear you got it right where you like it. I do not think you will get good with this plane, you already are good. Hope you have as much fun with it as I have had with mine. Funny thing is, I am still learning this plane and what it can do. Jeff Williams

Thanks Jeff. I have a long way to go still. Good thing is I don't want to be good just to be good. I think doing all this is just the most fun I can have. Can't wait to see where the sledge takes me. Noone else around here has seen one fly yet, so Morris will probably be getting some calls after the funfly this weekend.
Bill- You trying to get me to build you and Gordo a sledge lol. Hopefully you made enough off of building all of ours that you can get yourself one.

Dude,
I left that money in Nashville and at every gas station and Sonic between there and home. LOL But it was all worth it. It sounds funny but this is the first time I have built planes that other people are flying when I see the pic's I remember the 5 weeks of building I did, Kind of gives me a warm fuzzy feeling
