If this thing can be 4 lb., this should make the Goldberg Extreme 540 a 2nd choice for ARF profile Edge at this point.

The video is great. I saw the long tail wheel wire. Gee, I wonder why that's so long

Looks really Really good Wayne. But I'm very disapointed in you guys, going around breaking rules and all. There were at least 4 violations, and I probably missed some while I was calling Dave Brown. [8D] (you do hear the black helicopters, right?)

Oh, BTW, how do we get one, and can just anyone go around doing those very nice 9's?

No.

I havnt flown that plane yet.
I assume its either Chris, Jay or Russell flying.
Or, a combination of all of them.

Am I mistaken in seeing that the thrust line is like 2" above the wing chord center-line? From the picture above, it looks like the top of yellow stripe covering is where engine center-line is, where the bottom of yellow stripe covering is where the wing chord center-line is.

OMP Edge looks like the 2 line up.

The dimensions on the video were different than the website. I wonder which is the correct size?

The dimensions on the website are correct. I had given the dimensions of the first prototype to my video editor some months ago and they wound up on the video. We'll get that taken care of shortly.

The thrust line appears to be in line with the horizontal stab. The wing may have been lowered on purpose to help prevent tuck or roll while in KE, Then again maybe the designer just wanted it to look a little different

It definitely looks like a winner!!![8D]

When I wear out my OMP edge, I'll have to give it a try.

I have to say that I am usually far from impressed with current ARF construction, but the pictures of the wing that Wayne posted look very good. It's not just the good fitting parts but looks like a good design. I have never seen a kit, or any arf with interlocking cap strips or as much attention to lighting of the ribs and shear webs. As long as they are not using poor balsa, it sure looks like a winner. Wayne please post the same shots of the actual production model when you get one. I already have a Sledge and an Ohio 540FF built to my liking but WOW, I can see I'm going to "need" another 40 size FF Edge.

I wont have one before anyone else does...
I will be in Atlanta in a week or so and will get to fly it. I will take lots of pics and videos.

Chris is hoping to have these planes ready to deliver to customers VERY early in '04. Things are going well with the new factory and everything seems to be on track.

The quality of these planes is something that needs to be seen to appreciate fully. There isnt any ARF on the market now that even comes close. I know my opinion is slightly biased but, when you guys see these planes for yourselves you will know what I've been talking about.

I may have to sell my Funtana after all.

So, is this plane by Chris, or is this a turn-key set up for him like the Mini 3D?

I REALLY like the transparent yellow with white on the bottom. The white really makes the yellow bright, and helps with orientation for all of those 25.5 foot away hovers ...

There is going to be some sort of post, when these things hit our shores, right?

I hope I don't have as much trouble hovering as the pilot in the video. That poor guy must have had some trouble with the needle valve or something. The Saito kept loosing power, and bumping the rudder on the ground.

Chris- If you need help setting a needle, to avoid any further problems, please send me a first class round trip ticket from Appleton to Atlanta. I'll set it for you, so that you don't keep having that problem.

If I can have only one of the two, which would be the choice? A morris sledge or this edge 50. For the price I'd take this edge since it's an arf for only $40 more than the morris kit but is there something I'm missing by not having a Sledge?
I am finishing up my Burrito this weekend. I have an MTK in the box and both UCD's. Which would be the best bet?
Thanks,,,basmntdweller
