Personally, I wouldn't recomend either for first, unless you are already an acomplished 3Der. Not that you can't fly'em but you get a lot more time to think and easier recoveries with the thicker straighter wing planforms, ie Knife and Burrito. I got my first Taco too soon and it was a waste.
After LOTS of time with Knife, SPA3D, and Burrito, FF Taco is now my fav of all. But you gotta be on it ALL the time. My Sledge is still getting dressed, but even if it's easy to fly, I wouldn't want to learn on it. Burrito Builds easier and stronger, better for all my dorks!

I agree it really depends on your experience. If your are new then I to would suggest a Burrito, if not then go with either an OMP edge or the Sledge.
I also feel that you should have more than one plane, and it should be a SPA3D, for the Durability alone.

I concur,
Build a SPA3D then build a burrito wile you fly the spad. It will save you tons of $ in the long run and you can take your time building the burrito and have a nicer finished product.
