Sig Ultimate FunFly without top wing?
I just crashed my Ultimate and ruined the top wing. I got a new plane on order and want something to kick around. I'm wondering how well, if at all, the Ultimate would fly without the top wing? Thanks

RE: Sig Ultimate FunFly without top wing?
Suprisingly well. I had a sig ultimate about four years ago and did the same thing, doinked it pretty good and screwed the top wing as well as the fuse. So I just took the plans built another fuse with 1/4 balsa. sheeted it, except I moved the lower wing position up to mid fuse and foward a little, glued the bottom wing in. It is not the greatest flying thing I have ever flown but since the work was minimal and I needed something to fly I flew it for about a year. Then I got my Su-do-dammit and retired it to rafter space. Now I assume that you are just going to leave the wing on the bottom so I am not sure how that will work for you. My little creation was enjoyable anyway.

I have a Ziroli 1/6th scale Stearmann I think would look spiffy as a low-wing. Just removing the upper wing.. and moving the c.g. back to suit.
Too chicken to try it though.

If ya built it yourself and kept the punchouts and prints, build up two extensions for your wing, about 3 bays long and extend the wing, keep the cg the same and go for it.
