From: BLUE, HI,
I had to manually add the .wmv extension in the SAVE AS screen. Using IE5 as my browser. Hope that helps.

The Morris site says July 1 for it to be in stock. John, I had the same problem with the videos until I went back and looked at the directions on the site where I downloaded them. Save it to a file. Go into the file and single click on the video, then go up to file and click. Come down to OPEN WITH select other program, then choose windows media player. This is what worked for me. Wayne, it was going to take over 3 hours for the hover video to download, but it is probably Jeff Williams as stated above. I will ask him to Email you, as I don't like to give addresses out without permission. He may come to the Coles County Fly-in next weekend. Tom

My computer saved the video with the file extention .html. The computer would then automatically open the file with a browser program, which didn't work. I manually changed the file extention to .wmv. It then opened with Windows Media Player and worked file.
I think the hovering video should be shortened to about one third of its length and file size. Jeff hovers, catches the plane, throws it in the air 3 or 4 timew. The video should be shortened to watch him hover and catch one time. 34 megabytes takes a long time to download. The file could be cut to maybe 10 MB.

Tom,
Thanks and I already have Jeff's e-mail. I was able to see the videos. Really cool. I wanted to ask him about catching the plane. I have been working up to it but havnt actually reached out and grabbed it yet.

I initally zipped the files, but too many people had problems with the self-extracting zip files for some reason. I got a reasonable number of requests to put them into an unzipped format, which I did. I had shorter movies up there, and I had others request for longer ones.
I guess I just can't win for trying.
By the way, It is Jeff Willams flying the Sledge 540. He is the designer of this RC Fun-Fly.

Your computer saved the file with the wrong file extention. You need to change the file to .wmv. If your computer will still not play the video, then you need to either download and install Windows Media Player, or open any folder, click on View and then Folder Options. Select the File Type and click on New Type. Specify the .wmv extention and open with the Windows Media Player program. If you can't figure this out, go to Windows help and study up on file extentions. If you know how to do it, this whole process takes a minute or two.

This is what you do if you are stuck when trying to open the files (I'm using Windows Media Player 7 - the newest version- so if you don't have it then I'm sorry 4 ya)
1. Click on the link to the Sledge540 video; http://www.hsrcm.com/movies.htm
2. Scroll Down to the Sledge540 Videos and click on either jeff-elevator2.wmv or jeff-hover.wmv.
3. Once all the "chinese" writing has come up copy the address at the top. To copy the address highlight it then go to EDIT>COPY (You can just copy these links here though - I copied these directly from the Sledge540 movie site.
a. Sledge 540 Elevator link: http://www.hsrcm.com/images/movies/jeff-elevator2.wmv
b. Sledge 540 Hover link:http://www.hsrcm.com/images/movies/jeff-hover.wmv
4. Once you have copied either the Elevator or Hover link then you'll need to open up Windows Media Player 7
5. Now that you have Windows Media Player 7 up go to FILE>OPEN URL (CTRL+U)
6.Once you have come to the screen that says open (Open URL) you need to paste in the link of the Sledge540 movie you are trying to view - either http://www.hsrcm.com/images/movies/jeff-elevator2.wmv or http://www.hsrcm.com/images/movies/jeff-hover.wmv
7. To paste the link into the Open URL pop up box we cannot just go to EDIT>PASTE, because the previous screen is inaccessible. To paste it this time we will have to use the shortcut. We will need to push CRTL+V (the shortcut for EDIT>PASTE).
8. After you have pasted the .wmv link to the Open URL Link then just click OK.
9. It will buffer then soon you will be able to view them
If you still have any questions just post your questions in this post.
Hope this helps and I hope I didn't confuse some of u guys :stupid:
-Brian
P.S. I added a picture of what and where you should be going. Keep in mind that I'm using Windows Media Player 7.

The Sledge540 hover video seemed like it repeated itself halfway through the movie, making it 2min. + ....... thank goodness for Broadband huh
The Sledge540 videos are very impressive.... or the pilot is anyway. He's crazy - taking the plane in his hands during hover then rotating himself + the plane 360 degrees, then tossing it back out into a hover..... breath Brian, breath
It is a surely a winner!

Once you save the movie to a directory or your desktop,
1. Single LEFT click the video so that it is highlighted.
2 Hold the <SHIFT> key down while you right click while your cursor is over the file name/ICON. This will bring up additional options in the pop-up window.
3. Then select "Open With" and pick Media Player. You may have to choose Options, and then pick "Media Player". Also notice, when you select options, there is a check box in the lower left hand corner of the pop-up that asks you is you always want to open this type of file with the selected program? If you select this check box then all of your downloaded files will change their ICON symbol to Media Player.
Sorry I didn't respond earlier, but I've been flying, building, and designing instead.
