Default Selma indoor fly

I got a couple pics this evening of a little indoor flying. There wasn't enough light I guess so the plane is "in motion" a bit. Sloan was do ing the flying and almost got in a #9 but he wimped out. I told him he didn't have the stones

Sorry the pics suck. For those of you that don't know, in the group of five Dave Brown is far left, Dr. Sandy Frank, our host for the evening, is on the far right and I'm not sure but the guy next to Dr. Frank may be Dave Mathewson.
Sloan didn't have any problem doin' the 9 after most of that group left. Like I said, no stones
I'm really just jealous, at least he has the skills!

Sloan has stones..I was a witness to his first glow #9 violation.

I hope you guys poured lighter fluid on your LiPos for DB so he would be able to see one actually burning.

Oh yeah,, Did Sloan's plane have any Calvin pissing on #9 or such for decoration?? Damn the luck!![X(]

Wayne, Yeah it was them. Sandy Frank rented a gym and hosted a free fly in. While we were flying The EC showed up to check things out.
I couldnt resist setting up the shot. I had Matt go across the gym and take pics while I TRed right in front of them. I never nined but held it an inch off for most of a pack. At one point I was about 6 feet from them and Sandy
said to back off a little so I ran it out to about 15 feet away from them and kept it there.
I have to say sandy was a great host. he was really into the 3d and asked a lot of Questions about the gear we used. He was flying a PBF and Dave Mathewson flew it also.
I had never met any of them before but I really liked Sandy and Dave M.
Dave brown was freindly but seemed a little standoffish .

That werent me! I for once never hit anyone or anything except the floor! It was the guy from New Castle that got Sandy with his 3DX. Jimmy drove through me once while I was hangin around but that wasn't my doins.
Sandy said he rented the place to give the EC an idea of things that are going on beyond their seemingly narrow focus. All DB knows is 80's style pattern planes with loud piped hi revvin .60s. However I don't completely fault him for that love, just his narrowmindedness.

Technically speaking, Sandy reached out to try to catch it fearing that it might hit him. It gave him a whack on the hand with the prop but no damage to hand or plane.

Right!

According to Gordo in the funflying forum the # 9 garbage is over. It never stopped me from touching my tail to the ground, although I am getting pretty bored with it. Seems like everyone is doing it these days!

From the right of Sloan on. Dave Brown (AMA Pres), Ginger Mathewson (wife of D2 VP Dave Mathewson), Bruce Nelson (D 11 VP), Bob Underwood (AMA Technical Director), Dr. Sandy Frank (D 8 VP).

LOL. Dave Mathewson is a LOT younger than Underwood.
