arwwwww, share with the group eddy

the Cougar is a blast to fly and will be the cheaper of the two once you gear it all up ( leo 37 sf makes it even cheaper ), the Hype is bigger and better if you know your stuff.
for a second plane get the Cougar, turn the rates down a bit and get used to it.
then open it right out, get it by the throat and shake it and shake it till it dies, only it wont and it'll love you for it.

i agree. i got a cougar (and getiing a new one in a few weeks) and ive put mine thru lots and lots of crashes and just general low flying doing stupid stuff. my engine cut in a 20foot high torque roll and it hit the ground head on. change the prop and fly again. bounces well. to show the strength they do full power blenders. ive done a few and there great. im going to start doing los of stuff with my cougar lower (like blenders pulling out lower) soon as im geting a new one

strenght....

my wing has no soild ribs left, i can move the servos up and down the wood that is there is held in place by the covering really. i can still fly flat out and do blenders ( i don't full throttle blender )

let me make it clear my wing is probably THE oldest ARTF Cougar wing there is ( still flying anyway ), my Cougar was in the very first batch and it's seen more action and hits than a doped up pornstar![X(]

i've got a review on my site [link=http://www.philsrcworld.fsnet.co.uk]philsrcworld[/link]

[link=http://www.westonuk.co.uk]Weston UK[/link] make it, and IMO you won't find a better ARTF anywhere!

heres pics of mine taken from my site. as you can see it's old and battered, the bottom pic is the brand new look

I don't have a Hype.
set up is standard Futaba arms, and the kit horns set for max throws, 140% ATV on the tranny, batt behind the wing, West 36 on a mini pipe ( the Leo 37sf on a pipe would be almost as good )
i've also sealed the rudder and aileron gaps.
it's pretty much standard set up, more than good enough to do all you can with a Cougar.

the West 36 now comes with a backplace that doubles up as a engine mount, saves weight.

martin: on saturday ill take a look at your flying and if i think you wont crash my plane ill let you have a go. even if you do crash, im getting a new one at sandown.

if you do get one, get it at sandown with the west 36 and pipe. well worth it. i was flying formation with doctor jason (i.e jason). including formation hovering and torque rolls. he landed and i almost tail tapped his wing. we came very close at some times, within a few feet. but we had a climb and gluide comp. his vertical speed was far better than mine, and mines awesome
