Default Glow engine 3D props

I'm new to the Glow engine profile "3D/fun-fly" type airplanes and I'm a little confused about props (.40-.53 size engines). I have been recommended an APC 12.25X3.8 prop so I ordered one. Well, when it came in the label says "not for gas engines" (I assume they intend it for electric motors only). The prop is very thin at the hub and very flimsy feeling...it just doesn't look like it will hold up to a high powered .40-.50 size engine. I also ordered a 12X4 and it looks the same. Are these props really going to hold up?

Bill, I just checked at the APC website, and the only props of that size are made for glow engines. Are you sure you ordered the gray APC's? There should be a C-2 molded opposite the APC on the front of the hub. Is this what you have?

You want a APC 12.25x3.75. That is the correct prop.

The 3.8's are electric props.

I didn't catch that 3.8 pitch. I think what he needs is 12.25 x 3.75. I didn't see a 12x4 electric at the APC website.

Yes it would Matt. I kinda like the APC 12X4 sport more for my .46 sized motors. On my OS .50 SX I run the APC 12.25X3.75 wide. The power is great although I would like to try a 12X4 on that one too. The sport props spool up much faster. I haven't tried a MA 12X4 before but their 11X4 performs great on my competition Fun Fly.
