Default New Webra Engine

hello
I saw the Webra Speed 55GT on the webra website. Is this engine new, does anyone have info on it. Seems like its geared more for torque with prop recomdations 11/7, and 12/6. It only weighs an oz more or so than the 50GT and the manufacturer says it makes 2.1 ps compared to 1.8 for the 50. Anyone know how it compares to the 50. It seems like it would work perfect for profiles and fun fly planes with a bit more torque than the 50.

When I figure out how to get one, I'll let you know how it performs. I love my .50 GT to death and would not fly any other 2C in the .46-.50 size!!!!

I too am a big Webra 50 fan. I called Horizon Hobby and the guy that answered the phone could not find anything about it in their system. He said that based on no info being in the system, even if they decide to carry this engine it would be at least three months before it was available.

i emailed Webra and they said that the engine will be availible in april in North America. They wouldn't give me any info on price because of euro exchange rate and gas prices. Apparently the factory is shipping them at the end of march but i dont know what places will carry them.

I believe Horizon is the US distributor for Webra, and other US retailers get their Webras through Horizon.

I got some info from Webra about the 55. It will be available in Europe in April. Apparently Horizon, the US distributor, has not made a decision on whether or not to carry this engine. If Horizon does not carry it, the Canadian distributor may be the best bet for those of us in the US.

A few calls to Horizon asking about the engine might provide the necessary encouragement.
