Yep, we're biased for sure!

The Hybrid is designed to be a big giant fun fly plane. Very very soft in the air and incredibly stable. Check out the videos on the webpage and do a search in this forum. Hopefully others will chime in as well.

I just bought one of these kits from a guy here on RCU for $250. After flying the 47"OMP Yak I built for my dad this weekend I am dying to start on this kit and get it in the air. It will have a either a DA-50 or BME 50 on the front all hitech digital servos, and a TBM LI-Ion battery system.
My question is are there any lightening methods that can be used through the build?? And does anybody make CF Gear for this thing???

No real lightening techniques other than to be carful how much glue you use. DO NOT put carbon fiber gear on this plane or any other plane for that matter. Carbon gear is brittle and every one I've ever seen used has broken. There's a reason you don't see carbon gear at the fields or any giant scale meet/contest. Just my 2CW.

My Hybrid flys Awesome with a DA 50 -JR 8611's 1 on each aileron 2 elevator 1 pull pull rudder and a futaba 3004 on the throttle no servo on the choke i made a manual pull push rod for that comes out the front of the cowl. The cowl itself is designed into the build no need for a add on. Futaba 9C radio

No there is no fiberglass cowling. Remember this is a "hybrid" profile and fattie fuselage. The cowling is simply an extension of the fuselage siding along with some sheeting along the top and bottom. It's all flat so if you ever bust it up it's easy to fix anyway.

The DA50 has plenty of power I can take off in 3' and go straight up. I am using a 22x10 menz and am wondering if Salmon can give some info on how the 24" prop compares to the 22" prop. It Torque Rolls effortlessly in 20 MPH wind that we had today. I have the smaller profiles and have a hard time torque rolling and hovering with consistency but this Hybrid is no comparison and easy to Hover and Roll when balanced. Awesome plane

KA,
I'll try to answer your question here and this should cover both posts from the Hybrid threads. The prop size depends on who makes the props and of course what altitude you are flying at. The Menz 24-8 is not actually 24" but more like 23 1/2" whereas the MSC 23-8 really is 23" but a little heavier. I've had great luck with both props. The 22-10 or 22-8 would give quicker throttle transition but you may need to be careful with over revving the engine. DA should be able to give advice on that.
Thanks for the compliments on the Hybrid as well!

Hehehe! That plane looks simply amazing quicksand! How is the pullout with the DA?
