the rcs is a drop in like a 120 glow motor it just required some removing of some of the wood in the middle for the taps that are on the end of the case. It does have a rear carb so this required that it sit forward a few mm of the end of the motor area. i will most likly have to put my receiver or igition battery in a specail made area to acheive a good balance. That RCS can fly for about 20 minutes on 11 oz of fuel so i will look toward about a 6-8 oz tank mounted around the landing gear area on the bottom area of the bird.
Yes this is the ARF i have not heard anything but great things out of this bird along with great service from OMP.

RE: RCS 1.4 on the OMP Yak
i am getting there. The motor is just hanging in there because the bolts are not actually long enough. All of the control surfaces are working along with hooking up the throttle servo. I am at the point of needing to:
mount the receiver battery
2nd switch
balancing
Is the balance about 6.25 inches? Right now i am sitting at 7.5 lbs i should be around low 8 once completed. With those big wings i am not sweating my ever it weighs.
Here are somemore pics of the motor cut out area. I will have to clean that area up when my tools arrive next week.

Krazy send email to [email protected] we'll get you a set of Tetherite to replace your gear. Your gear is Williams RC gear, not Tetherite, but I don't know why it failed, sounds strange.
I'd just hand release it and belly land it on grass, but won't be easy with that fuel tank under there.

wow! thanks so much look out flying field i am back as arnoldnolastnameneeded would say
mrbrigg:
I did not fly long 1-2 minutes trimming then I set up to land so that I could do some mixing to the radio one side of my knife edge was pretty much on point. I was going to start putting a mix on the left to right side. I did not try any other things. I plan to try as much as possible the next time i am in the air after getting the mix correct.
Newsflash i have my reply back new gear will go out tomorrow (monday) thanks so much s-pilot

krazy,
I'd like to know what your all-up weight is. I have an RCS 1.40 and a kit built Yak 54 in the garage right now. Might be able to pull the OS 1.08 off the plane and install the RCS.

8 lbs and 12 oz using a big battery in the rear for balance 6.6 oz plus the regulator 1.? oz heck there is a G-26 on one which made me do my deal. the birds has sq inches of wing area for days like the morris kit back in the day...... keep me posted u will love this set up i might add as you know that 1.4 sips about 1/2 oz of gas per minute....
