flair katana 50 with TT pro .61
Hi every1, I am thinking of buying a flair katana 50 to put my thunder tiger pro .61 2 stroke engine into, can anyone give me some info about how the plane will handle the engine? also would the plane require any reinforcements to the firewall, etc.
Here's the specs:
Specification:
Wingspan
1350 mm
Weight
2.75~2.85 kg
Length
1270 mm
Wing loading
91~95 g/dm2
Wing area
30 dm2
Airfoil thickness
14 %
Engine
.46~.50 2 stroke
.52~.63 4 stroke
Radio
4 channel
5 servos
PS: there will probably be someone who says '' go and get a 4 stroke'', but I at the moment I am not in a situation to do this. []
Regards
Darren

I would think that if it can handle the vibrations of a 4 stroke you would be allright. Just pin the firewall and run some thick CA or epoxy around the joints. The plane looks like the Ultra RC Katana.

RE: flair katana 50 with TT pro .61
I have been searching around the internet and have found that ultra-rc, jamara, flair all have this model [&:], by the way, I will be buying the jamara one, not the flair one. Are these planes all the same?? Ultra RC katana 50, flair katana 50, jamara katana 50.
Again will the TT pro .61 2 stroke be a problem on the jamara katana 50?

I think the .61 is going to be too heavy for this plane. You will need to mount your servos in the tail and still will probably have trouble getting it to balance. Here is a link to a two stroke that would work:

I have no experience with it, but saw a review here on RCU that said this motor ran great.
