Well, the ProBro Fly-in was my first FunFly Contest in 11 years. It was so much fun, I am hooked again.
When I was flying 11 years ago in my last FunFly, I was flying a little scratchbuilt plane that I had used in most of the funflys I flew in. It was a 'Stick'-like plane powered by a .25. (I still have one just like it today). I won that last contest, but what took second place was the first of the "Unlimited Class" Wing and Carbon boom Fun-Fly planes (This one was designed and kitted by a guy named Brian Austien). I was absolutely blown away by the performance of that plane.
Today they are even better.
I designed the Jupiter to be Good Lookin and good flyin' too. But now it is time to build a true Unlimited Fun Fly plane. I have looked at the Stick-its, the Smith planes, even the Menace. They are truly built just for flying.(They definitely were not built for good looks!
)
So here is my winter project. It is a full house Fun Fly plane to be powered by one of my modified Cox TeeDee.049's. All up expected weight should be around 8-9 ounces. Wingspan is 26 inches.

The funfly looks good. I want to build one for the .25 plain bearing motor i have laying around. I will have to get plan form somwhere.
My big project is a .40 size edge540. I have to draw it up and start cutting. This will be my biggest project yet. Im ordering a seduction free style that is getting build this winter too. Hopfully the 540 will keep me buisy this winter. I think it will. I never realized how much work goes into a new kit.

I found a "professionally" framed Morris Su-Do-Khoi 60. It's being shipped here now. If It looks good, it will be winter project #2. I have a Morris Hot Hots to cover first. The Hots is slated to be a "Blue Angels" scheme complete with all markings. (Well most of them.) The Su-Do will be a Breitling SU-31 look, like the Hanger 9 1/3 scale. I'll get vinyl letters for the wings to read "TailTwister AEROBATICS" where theirs says "Hanger 9 AEROBATICS". The Hots will fly on a Tiger 51 with an Ultrathrust muffler, and the Su-Do will have a YS 91 FZ. I have no pics, just parts, as of now, I'll get some though.
