what kit is easiest build
i need a winter project, ive have several of the omp profiles and 1 from accell hobbies but all have been arf. so which 40 sized profile would be a good 1st time kit build for a newbee builder. do i stay with omp, always been happy with thier products or try maybe a mojo, keyword being an "easy" build.

stick with OMP, There kits are complete, good plans, good quality materials, and my Edge came with a CD disk of directions for a computer. They have great product monitoring here on RCU, with there own support section when you have a build question too. Can't beat that, It's having the factory and designers rite there on call anytime of day.
Go OMP you won't be sorry.

I will agree that some parts of the Mojo build quick and easy but I have to say when it comes time to join the fuse assembly to the carbon spar / motor mount assembly it was a real pain in the butt. For a newbee I would say stay with the OMP kits. The foam fuse is quick and easy and the wings build quick. I have about every plane that they kit in .40 size and .60 size and they all fly awesome.

If you're new to building and not sure what you want...... You're welcome to take a look at the Mojo manual on my web site: http://www.swanyshouse.com/mojo/mojo...structions.pdf and see if it's right for you. I've also heard good things about the OMP kits. The Edge 540 is a great flying plane as well as the 40 size yak. Jeff Williams also has a 40 size Extra kit out that flys really good too.....

What you say is true, but I gotta give you a plug here.........
If you are learning 3D you will crash......ALOT...........The MOJO, BURRITO and TACO are the most durable planes you can build. Don't forget, my 8 and 9 year old sons framed up a MOJO 60 all by themselves!!!!! I have it hanging in my room for proof. Anyone who has built an arf can frame up one of these.

I have built both, and there is little question the MOJO is a faster easier build. Sheeting foam is not easier! As an added benefit the Mojo will be a little lighter. Both are very good, and I still fly both, but my MOJO get's more air time.

RE: what kit is easiest build
Mojos are easy to build, tough as nails, and they fly GREAT.
The same can be said for the OMP kits, just not as durable.
<----- That is an OMP edge
This is a MOJO

I say go with the Burrito or Mojo all of Pauls kits are easy to build and there are enough of us check in here to give you help if you need it. First kit I ever built was a Burrito then the Taco and then a MOJO. Didn't have much trouble with any of them. And they will take a beating.

Another one to look at would be the new Fusion kits from OMP. The 40 size will be available early Jan and these kits incorporate the latest laser cutting and assembly techniques. The 90 size is available now. Plus they are two piece wing construction and carbon reinforcements in the fuse. Check out the pics and assembly threads for the Fusions.

RE: what kit is easiest build
Profile kits have come a long way in the last year. Paul Swanson, OMP, Spaz and myself have really went nuts with laser cutting. My Extra 330L kit takes 6 to 8 hours to frame, some have framed it with no instructions. It takes many many hours to do this and runs laser cost way up. But if you want to build some of us have really went to great lengths to reduce your framing time. Now if we could only figure out how to help them get covered in less time.

I agree the mojo construction is simple and quick. For some time Paul Swanson led in simplified construction, however that is not the case anymore as most every profile kit coming out is very advanced in its simplification of construction. I thank Paul for doing this because it forced me and others to get busy doing more CAD work to make your job easier. I think you will find most every profile kit these days, excluding Morris, can be framed under 10 hours and most in 6 - 8 hours.
