RE: what magazine
No single mag has really good coverage of profile stuff.
Ed Moorman writes for R/C report, and before he got carried away with twin engine topics, he did have a lot of good profile coverage. He always has a "maneuver of the month" in his column, which he's just about now ready to recycle or update.
If you don't get R/C report, you should. It's cheap, and contains the only actual honest product reviews you'll find in the modelling press. I like Editor Gordon Bank's approach and I'm glad he can make a living offering honest content without "selling out" to the advertising conglomerates.
FYI, here's what I read every month:
R/C Report
Model Aviation
Fly R/C
Flying Models
Model Airplane News
3D Flyer
Quiet Flyer
Quiet & Electric Flight Intl
RC Jet Intl
R/C Modeler is no longer in print. Oh well.

RE: what magazine
Even here in Mexico I get my monthly copy of RC Report. IN my opinion the best magazine in the market.
Every review is filled with details on the good and the bad, and the writers are some of the most knowledgable on their field.
I wish they cover more profile stuf and miss the writing form Stu Richmond (even if he was all anti 3D)
But no other magazine will give you more return for your money.
Saludos y Feliz Navidad.

RC Report gets my vote too. And the ad rates are very affordable compared to what the rest of the publications want!
Good articles and not just an "advertisement vehicle"!
