Show your home made profile planes
I noticed in this forum its mainly about kit and arf profile planes. But does anyone designs their own models?????? i have build a whole bunch of profile planes and they all flew very well without investing huge sums of money.
I'm really interested in what you guys came up with, I'm looking forward to any pics or plans you got. I'll try to get some when my new creation is finished...

As a matter of fact.........I'm just finishing one now. I had a couple of busted up wing halves laying around from an old Hobbico Extra ARF. I also had a Carbon Fiber Rod and some 1/2 inch ply, and decided that I needed something radical, yet light in wieght. I'll post some pics.............
I'm going to mount a brand new O.S. 61 Four Stroker, never been fired, and yet dis-continued years ago!!!
If I put the hustle on, I think it should fly this weekend.

I've designed tons of them. Over time I've refined my basic design to something that really works for me. I wish I had a digital camera so I could post some. Maybe this summer.....

Cool! a boom plane. Those fly great. I remember when I was glying those a lot in Florida I saw a guy hover well for the first time with one. That was in about 1992. I know guys hovered long before that, but it was the first time I saw it.....

Jerry-RCU,
I was curious how you are attaching the wings on the "Stik" type airplanes you posted in posts 10,13,17?
I never thought about making a "Stik" profile, thats a great idea!

RE: Show your home made profile planes
This is my well flown scratch built extra special,Runs a 46FX with a 10x6 APC and is a bullet.
Aircraft flies well especially inverted flat spins .
Originally I had a foam fuse that was sheeted ,I tried this to see if I could do away with the typical Profile vibration from the engine ,and yes it worked quite well. But after 2 yrs the foam started to break down inside the sheeting. So I made a thicker than stock balsa fuse and used that.Caution I did have to use tail wires because of the speeds and violent maneuver's this plane will do.

I'll throw mine in here, One is a built from Paul Swansons plans, A Taco. The other is called the YR-38" or Yard Rat, its a mix of a OMP Edge and Quicker's Skeeter 30, W/S = 38". In the bones and covered, Scratched from drawing to finish.
