Matchless Aero Pitts Model 12
Hi Guys - have finally gotten my Profile Pitts just about finished. Got a lot of building done this winter and flying season is just a few weeks away! Thought I'd share some pix. I built this from a "short kit" bought here off RCU. Jeremy Chinn, one of the designers for OMP marketed this one himself - you'll see that it's a bit similar to the OMP Boxxer, also designed by Jeremy. This is my first try at a flame covering job. Engine, a new O.S. .46 AX. Standard servos for flight controls and a mini for the throttle. Am looking forward to maiden flight when the snow melts enough to expose our runway at the field.

RE: Matchless Aero Pitts Model 12
Couldn't find specs on the plans or in the instructions! Upper wing is swept like an Ultimate. It's got a 9 1/4" chord and a 41 1/2" span. The bottom wing is straight, same chord but a 40" span. I calculated the wing area to be about 755 Sq Inches or 5.24 Sq Ft. My weight has worked out to be 5 Lbs minus a battery (4 ozs.) I figure that this gives me a wing loading of 16 oz/Sq Ft. I could have built it a bit lighter, but I chose not to. For example, I did the wings and fuselage with Balsarite. I built a plastic tube into the fuselage to run the servo leads. I used 4-40 pushrods and clevis hardware for the aileron linkages. It all adds up. Here's a picture of what you get in the short kit...
