Has anyone ever heard of an airplane called a honker bipe?
We used to have a lot of fun with these solid basla winged 40 sized planes.
If you could fly one of them, you could fly anything.

I actually have a kit and a couple built, They are actaully .25 size , only 36" span, They probably were quit a handfull with a .40 on them, of coarse some of the ol McCoy 35s and 40s were not all that powerfull , The last time I flew mine was with the Saito 30 4 stroke. I thought it did real nice, The same company made the 1/2a Honker Mono wing, and another called a Gipsy which was a struted high wing like a Citrabra, I have a Gipsy kit but still looking for the 1/2a, one was on Ebay a while back but I missed it. I think you could call the Honker the early years Duraplane. A good friend is still flying his with an O.S 25 . I think SIG still makes the tapered Panels to build the wings.

Thanks for the reply Dave!
I like remenicing about those times. We used get a few Honkers in the air and have mock dogfights. I wouldn't mind building one just for grins.
