Default Accel Hobby Kat GS70 help

I posted this in the 3D forum with no luck. Maybe this forum is more appropriate.

I received the original version of the Katana GS70 for Christmas. This is the original one piece wing version from Accel Hobbies. I'm finally getting around to putting it together and I have a decent, but not super strong .90 2strk to mount. The instructions say that if a large engine is to be used, it's suggested that the fuselage be reinforced. Can someone with experience with this older version tell me whether I need to reinforce the fuse and if so, what's the best method?

Thanks, Jim

Jim, I don't recall the exact locations but do a search for the Accel kat 70 and you should find plenty of good info.

I bought one of these Accel's off Ebay... NIB for $51 + shipping... I figure for that price if it comes apart so be it... If it's not totaled I guess I'll know where to beef it up

I definitely agree with that philosophy at that price!

I researched the forums and I have yet to read where anybody reinforced the fuse or the H stab on the original cartridge wing versions.

I did the spider wire thing on the stabs... I haven't decided what to do about the wing saddle area yet though.. I've got a pickup so I think I'll just use some milled glass/cf and epoxy and glue it all up..

These older Kats have a tendency of folding the wings. Some do, some don't, no one knows how or why other than they're just not that well built. I just got one myself off of E bay and I'm trying to find someone to help me figure out how to reinforce the wing. My searches here haven't turned up any good information to date. Does anyone know where to find the threads on how to reinforce these wings? I don't mind losing the plane, I just don't want to hurt any spectators when the big crash happens.

Thanks
