The CG is recommended at 1 3/4" to 2" behind the spar. If you have been flying 3-D for a while I would start with the CG at 2" behind the spar. When I roll inverted my airplanes fly level with no control inputs. This is how all of my profiles are balanced.
As far as the control throws if you have a radio with dual rates set up low rate at 40% and on high rates get as much as you can get for unlimited fun. I have the file on a disk. PM me with your email address and I can send you the edge manual if you want it.

yeah, I have 3 flight modes programmed on OMP Edge, but all I ever use is 3D. That's as much throw as I could get. Just run a little expo. The plane's really easy to handle.

Thanks for the info, I already set up triple rates from 30% travel to bevel to bevel just need to CG it and go fly.

What engine are you guys running? I had a saito 82 sitting around that needed a home, hopefully it will be fun.

I have a Webra .50 on the Edge and an OS .46 AX on the Yak. I love the 2-strokes on the profiles they are lighter and the throttle response is better.

I have the 46AX on mine. It hovers well, but pull out is just ok. I would like a bit more. Great running motor, though. Oh yeah, i forgot. I was going to try a 12.25 3.5 prop. All I've been running is an 11-4. I should get more thrust, shouldn't I?

greyhound man, send me your email addy to [email protected] I will email you the PDF file. Dale (just plane nutz) nailed it though.
I know several people that have the 82 on this plane and love the combo but I have never had the chance to fly one set up like that. I run a TT 46 pro on mine and love it but in the same breath would like to try a 4 stroke on it.
Aerodave, the 12.25 will give more thrust but I think spool up is a lil slower, seems likeI switch from the 11x4, 11.5x3.75 and the 12.25x3.5, have used and loved all three.

I got a few flights last night on the edge it flew very well required only 1 click of up elevator trim. I did make a mistake though, I bought the Edge from a buddy that was flying it with a 46ax, and I left the 4oz tank on there.....only lasts about five minutes from the time you start the engine to deadstick.

no damage at all, I can't believe how slow it will fly before it stalls the plane almost lands it self.....its too easy, I am used to flying my gassers all the way to the ground.

The Webra has the most power with out a doubt. It is the strongest engine I have on the size range and it has the best throttle response.

*sigh* well, i retired the Edge tonight 'cause I needed the servos for something else. Its a really good plane. At least all I have to do is put 'em back in to get it going again. I've had it out so many times The red covering is all faded, like an old car that needs a wax job. I think its one of those that will be around for a long time....

Does anyone know why the Edge and the Yak aren't on OMP's web site anymore. I could only find the Katana on their site.

Duh, what do you mean not on our website? Edge and Yak kits are on the pages and in stock. ARFS are long out of stock and that's why they are not there. No dates for new arfs at this time. Other threads have covered the Kat kit and the Kat 46 v2 ARF certainly in stock although the summer sale has them going fast and they won't last at this price. Sale price for Kat 46 V2 ARF is $130 right now! Check it out:
