How do you reinforce your hardwood engine mount?

How do you reinforce your hardwood engine mount?
I am trying to get some ideas of how you guys reinforce your hardwood engine mounting rails, to prevent crushing as a result of engine vibration? I am using blind nuts, but my Saito 82 seems to crush the hardwood rails after some time. I just saw a thread showing phenolic material being used as the mounting rail, and that's quite a refreshing idea. Well, show me how you do it, and post some pics if possible. Thanks!

Mike,
I've never run a Saito .82, or any 4-stroke for that matter (yet!), but it would seem like unless the bolts are tightened so much that they crush the wood, vibration alone wouldn't damage the mount. I would make sure to use some locktite on the blind nuts so that you don't have to overtighten the bolts in order to get them secure. You could also thread on an additional nut and snug it up against the blind nut. That might keep the bolt from loosening.
Just my thoughts.....

Possibly switch to a Dave Brown mount?
Use a #11 blade to deeply ***** the wood, then soak it with thin CA. Be sure the wood used is spruce or oak, not bass. Most wood mounts will loosen over time, but if you're squashing the wood, it's either the wrong wood or you're tightening the bolts too much. After the bolt/nut snugs down, another half to 3/4 turn is all that's needed.

You can buy the offset plates from OMP.
http://www.ohiomodelplanes.com/ under accessories.
They work great, save your fuselage and give you preset offset for your motor.
