I'm just about ready to setup the control linkages.... The instructions are pretty weak on this... How have y'all done it? There's nothing but a carbon boom between the trailing edge of the wing and the tail feathers.... I was thinking of using 1/16 music wire and a piece of DuBro tubing and just tie raping it to the boom....

Slide a few pieces of inner Ny-Rod..maybe 1/4" long pieces...on the wire every few inches, and run this inside the outer Ny-Rod. Then tie wrap (or even black tape will work) this to the boom.
Works well for me, but I'll bet there are some more ways to do it.

That's how I did it too.
Your gonna LOVE this airplane.
Take 3 doctors and a good nurse to wipe the smile off your face.
( ok plane in pic isn't a Stickit, but its close enough. My own design, but same planform. Built after my Stickit did the dirtnap.)

Paul,
People have said that to me before, but I really don't have a problem with it. I always know whether or not its upside down or rightside up. I tend to fly pretty close in, maybe that helps.

I think I'm going to go with some 3/32 wire gear instead of the nylon one wheel mounting thing.... I'll post some pic's as soon as I can... I've got the wing and boom done... Just finished the tail feathers last night. Need to build the aileron's and cover them and cover the wing... I've got a TT 36 for it... outta be a hoot!!

I had one in the early 90's and did the Nyrod number. If I did it again, I would use Central Hobbies carbon fiber rods and rod ends and go control horn to control horn direct. These rods are stiff
. That's what I did on my Heckler and works great!
Good landings!
Ray
Oh, FYI. Flair Models put out a kit for the Stickit IV in the 90's.

That is how I did mine, however I ran the ny-rod inter tube all the way down the boom with a steel rod on the inside. The first one I did, I used ny-rod inter and outer all the way, however the G forces would flex the inter ny-rod.
I saw a Stick it with smaller servos, like 225's, mounted on the tail. The guy balanced the bird with a 40 instead of a 32.

On mine I just used nyrods (sleeve and pushrod) and zip tied it to the boom. Paul, ya gotta go for the one wheel. Its part of the mystique, the lore of the design...........

More modern than the Stickit, there is a kit called the "Minus". It can be built with one or two wheels. Some info and contact can be found on the NCFFA website at [link=http://www.ncffafunfly.org]www.ncffafunfly.org[/link]. Nice laser-cut kit, very competitive, very fun.
