I made a pqhor with an fp 40. Tried a 11x4 I had laying around. Worked ok but I think A little smaller prop wold help. he 11 would barely hover and would not pull out. My rpms were low. 9x4 or 10x4 Maybe I will buy both. These sure are super fun to fly.
Thanks Dan

Just kidding the 10-4 apc or as Paul said MA prop would work great. I just do not have available the MA prop here just APC.

Stay away from an APC on a bushed motor, which a FP is bushed. The APC does not flex will a woodie or MA and the FP won't perform worth a hoot (typically). I'd go with a MA or preferably a woodie. Considering that it is a QHOR, I would think that you would lean towards a MA considering that it is forgiving when it strikes the ground, and it flattens out with RPM so it won't make the plane fast. A 11X4 MA should work nicely unless you are flying at a high altitude. I'm running the 10X4 MA on a TT36 w/ MCM and am thinking of going to a 11X4 MA and taper the tips on my PQHOR.
Hacker - I can't help you regarding the 4C. Those little ones and me don't seem to get along, so I go rid of them.
(Maybe a 12x4 MA?)

I use a 12x6 Master Airscrew and get 10300 rpm on ground wich will be something like 11000 in air.
The engine has a max recommended rpm of 12000.

I am at 4000ft And I have found that a 9x4 has worked the best. For what I want slow and low. The 10 just never found the power band. I think If I was lower the 10x4 ma would be the best. Now I am wishing I would have put a 46 on it. I have craseh it 5 times in 2 days. No damage. I have never even come close to crashing my topcap. THese things are a gas. Thanks again. Dan

Its hard to beat these SPADs! If you dork it - typically you just check the prop & batteries, fill it up again, and go! I did break the engine mount on my PQHOR Sunday, but I cut mine way down to cut out some weight, and I 'dumb-thumbed' it doing tail touches in 25 MPH gusts
I would never dare to do that with one of my balsa Fun-Flys! The SPADs don't fly as good, but you can't beat the durability!
It develops the "NO FEAR!" flying technique!
