Default webra .32 compared to the Loe .37

I have heard the Webra is a hot .32 for funflying. I was doing some reading the other night and was wondering how the Loe .37 would be for a funfly application? My understanding is that the Loe and the Modeltech in this size are the same...
the price for these engines are cheep...!!
The output specs ( if accurate) seem to be up there with the Webra and OS?
anyone try this engine on a funfly? The specs indicate that they are screamers but can they deliver the much needed instant transition?
Just wondering???

I cant say for the Leo 37 a/c engine but the 37heli version I've been told is the most powerful in the 30 size range. Reports of having even more power than an OS 46. Also mentioned is they do like to breathe.......amousse can muffler would be in order for sure.

Default Leo

A friend of mine was running the Heli version in a 30 size Raptor. My son is running the OS 32 in his Raptor, and the Leo could NOT compare. Both helis were set-up in a simuliar fashion with same blades, (NHPs I believe), same weight of blades, etc. and the Leo did not have the power to pull through the 3D manuvers that they were doing together. Then the Leo threw the crank. Leo replaced it, and the new one went out as well. My exposure has been limited, but not good to say the least.

Sounds Like you get what you pay for!!!

Default Webra or Leo..

I have not had any experience with the Leo, so I can't comment on them. I have had very much experience with Webra's and you can't go wrong with a Webra. The Webra .32 has almot as much horsepower as an OS .46. I have a Webra .35 in a raptor and a Webra .50 on a "HardBet". Both engines are great....loads of power. They do however, take a while to break-in.

Go with the Webra..!!!!

Default Me too..

Never seen a Leo, but I was amazed at the power of the Webra 32. I think I remember getting 18.2K on an APC 9X6 using an UT muffler. This was on a 2.5#combat plane..I have a few, and think a Stickit VI is needed..a super-lite StickitV with full flying stab, Webra 32, and 10X4 prop.

They really are hot little engines.

Default Leo .37

I have a Leo .37 in my Magic 3D. It is still rather new but I think it is going to work out fine. The Combo weighs 3 Lb. 10 Oz. and the vertical is out of this world. Pulls out of a hover with no hesitation.
The transition from mid-range to full power is excellent. The transition from idle to mid-range is still a bit stuttery but I haven't had time yet to really work that out. The engine is still not fully broken in so I still expect some improvement. For 60 bucks how can you go wrong.

I had the leo 37 in a raptor,if the plane engine runs at all like the heli version it shuold be a real screamer. That leo was extremely powerful and easy to deal with. But I have also heard some not so good things about them,I think its a crap shoot if you get a good one or not.

Default Leo

I have 3*Leo 37 and 2*Leo 60, all of them run perfectly.

I run the 37s on a fun fly using a Genesis throttle pipe, the engines all have instant transition throttling up and down constantly as I try to hover, and I am using no nitro or 5% nitro if I am feeling rich.

I have used the same 37 with Genesis pipe in my English Electric Lightning weighing 5.5lbs and it screams around the sky.

They are powerful but I don't know how their power to weight ratio compares to others. The 60 is a bit on the heavy side. However as you can see from the number of Leos I have bought I have no hesitation in buying and using them. Who cares how long they last - they are so cheap! What matters most when doing low level fun-flying is an engine that keeps running and responds instantly and all my Leos have not even hiccuped once.

The worst engine I ever bought was the Brat .28. Low compression and low power. Same company as Leo, just different name.
