Default Top Cap Throttle linkage

I am finishing up the Morris Top Cap ARF. I have a Saito 72 mounted on it. What is the best way to mount the throttle linkage with the Saito? I am not going to be able to run the pushrod under the wing since the throttle is on the top of the engine. I am thinking about cutting a whole in the side of the fuse and using a micro servo. Any suggestions?

Also, what is the best place for the CG?

If you feel like carving out some wood you could try something like this.

Its pretty easy, I have the .72 on my topcap too. Get a wire pushrod, put a ball and socket setup on the engine throttle, bend it into a big U on the engine end and come back to the servo! If you need I can get a pic, I think the carb must be flipped too.

You can flip the carb around so the needle is on the top I also ran the push rod thru the wing, straight shot from servo to carb.

Wings,

Lets see a shot of that plane. Looks Like the McConville scheme.

I just mounted the throttle servo thru the top of the wing just like the rest of the servos on the bottom. Put the servo arm on and it's a straight line (almost) to the carb. I did flip the carb around so that the needle is on top. This is on an OS 70.

First flights on it were this afternoon- the jury's still out on whether I like it- it replaced a Su-Do-Khoi and it is different for sure.

Default TopCap Throttle

I looked at some of the goofy pushrod set-ups then mounted my throttle servo on the fuselage behind the engine. I drilled two 1/4 inch holes through the right side and balsa, but not the left side. Then I inserted 1/4 dowel stubs to mount the servo to. I used an HS-81 micro servo.
