Default Fun-Fly Engine?

What engine would you prefer for a Hangar 9 Pizazz and a Morris Su-Do-Khoi? I have an OS 50sx on the Morris right now but it just doesn't seem to have as much power as it should. What would be a good prop on there? I have also heard that the Irvine 53 is supposed to be even better than the 50sx. What do you think? Thanks.

Default I have both.

I am flying the Pizazz with an OS 60FP 2C. Plenty of vertical, even though mine is quite a bit heavier than most. This is because I got mine free from a guy that wrecked it and didn't want to rebuild it. I'm still tweaking the CG back. I have it 1/2 inch behind the spar now, and it still looks like it needs to be back more. Does great knife edge.

Your Sudokhoi problem really stumps me . I am flying mine with a stock, right out of the box OS 46FX and I have vertical like a homesick angel. I've used 11-4, 11.5-4 and 12.25-3.75 props and had great results with all. My weight isn't super light on that one either as it weighs 4 lbs 9oz. I would assume that with a 50SX the Sudo should scream.

My fuel is 15% Byron and I like OS No. 8 plugs.

The 12.25x3.75 makes a huge difference.

I use it and the Irvine 53 on a Top cap. Works great. It is a little stronger than the OS 50, but the OS 50 should be enough, both are excelent engines.

I was thinking about trying some of the 12.25 x 3.75 props but was worried I would over-rev the 50. Another guy I talked to said he uses a 14 x 4 on his 50 but I need to make some new gear before I can go that big.

I don't think you would over-rev the 50 with the 12.25x3.75.

I agree with Flipper. There's a discussion right now about that prop, and most people say it loads down the 46 engines a little too much for a good spool up (when you are trying to power out of hovers and such) so I would say that it would be perfect for the 50.

Hey Texas - is that Tower muffler a tuned unit like the Performace Specialties Ultrathrust? How much do they sell for?
