This is my rendition of the AWE-HOR I made it with flaperons using all std. hitec servos,GMS .47,std futaba receiver, and battery,Eclipse 7 for control.Put 2" counterbalances on the rudder and elevator, plus 2.5" to 3.5" tapered ailerons.I can tell you this thing is awesome,Waterfalls are a breeze, harrier is rock stable, hovers, flatspins, elevator(tried it inverted,it was awesome)torquerolls(if I can actually finish more than one revolution,Need a lot more practice ) but now I now have the perfect practicing platform.I can now try all that stuff without any fear of crashing(I have not landed the thing yet bacause i usually dork it on the ground practicing WILD stunts ) Its the best $10 dollars i have ever spent- 3D without worrying about crashing my protwister,AWESOME,I can now improve my 3D flying skills!

Love that LG! But Wheelpants? Have you installed bamboo sticks in the elevator counter balances? The first Awe-HOR I glued craft sticks to the bottom of the elevators to strengthen the c'balances. I then installed the bamboo sticks thru the coroplast on the second. This also strengthens the c'balances for when you land straight out of a hover, harrier, or elevator, or just decide to flat spin all the way to the ground Its a blast! Now, if I can only find a set of LG that will hold up to my abuse <LOL>
Enjoy - and I know you will! I need to try and hook-up with you guys next time I'm in PR!

Yeah,Kevin I did use bamboo skewers in the counterbalances, rudder and elevator in order to provide stiffness as you suggested, the landing gear came from a magic extra 300 that died on me after the receiver battery ran out of juice, but it has found a new home. And most importantly keep us informed when you come to P.R.,WE definetely have to hook-up,PM me when you know you will be coming,PR_supersports will be there too ,I'll let you borrow my Protwister,or Awe-qhor,or magic extra 300.(New one),or maybe my Stinger .10(but with a .25 Norvel engine, its a blast!) whatever you want

The Stinger 10 makes me laugh. My son built one with a Webra 32 a few years back. He also over doubled all of the control surfaces and dbl. tapered them all. This combo / setup made that little aircraft do things that we can only dream about. It is a riot to watch him fly it. I just can't believe that it has lasted as long as it has <LOL>.
I will be sure to let you know when I'll be in PR again. Thanks!
