Need ideas for a homemade tailskid for a 25 size plane.
I am finishing up a Swany's FF Taco CF. I need to make a skid for the tail and it needs to be pretty tall as the rudder sticks out the ass end about a yard (LARGE rudder). Any ideas??? I would love some pictures if you can take the time. Thanks,
Dan

I got just the thing..
Getting a pic might be hard..
I use a Goldberg tailwheel bracket and make a 1/16" music wire gear without a wheel, just a loop on the end there the wheel would be.
Bend it where after it goes up thru the bracket it lays along the bottom of the rudder and tape it on.
Weighs nothing and works great. I use this on my Sledge and it is great on that plane, doing the same for the Taco. Only drawback is it sounds terrible on pavement.
