Default sudukoi-to cut or not to cut...wingtips

Finishing up a Sudukoi from a kit. I keep hearing that cutting the wingtips off will improve high alpha flight(harrier) .

Is this true of the sudukoi also.

I left the tips off my Sudokhoi. Mostly so it better matched my 27% MW Extra 300S as you can see in my Avitar. Also there was a great article in RCReport about wing tip geometry about a year or so ago. Some guys extensively tested all styles on one plane and found out that the best tip geometry was actually an end plate that extended 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch above the surface of the wing. Second best was just squared off, like my Sudo and Extra. The worst, as far as roll rate and stall speed ect., was a fully rounded tip. I've been having a blast with my Sudokhoi. I'm glad I made it the way I did.

An end plate that extends over the top of the wing? I'd like to see a picture. I was watching Jerry Smith fly his Smith Special and if what I think you're saying is right he had that on his wing tips. If that's the case I'll start doing that to all my ff planes.

Sorry I don't have a pic Billy, but they said the end plates increased roll rate a decreased stall speed a marked amount.

Default Tip Plates!

Sure, the "Raven" has tip plates. Full size and various Raven models. They're supposed to do what has been said, but you'll always get different opinions.

As I recall, Don Incoll (OZ funfly master) had the wing tip plates on all of his funflys.....He swore by them for the above reasons.

Hmmm, anyone else remember the Aussie Shed?
