Default electric conversion Modeltech Majic - motor descision help

Hello all!
I was thinking of getting a Modeltech Magic 3D flyer! BUT, I have never touches an IC engine, and hope I never will. That is a different story - but I need a motor that is cheap, strong, and has the power of around a .45 engine. notice the "cheap" part - prolly the most important. I require the power enough to have good strong vertical - piece of cake!
I am really considering the Phasor 45/3 because it is cheap, small, and cheap, and good, and strong, and cheap. BUT, I would still need a brushless ESC, which I would prefer not to do.
If there is a brushed motor that is cheaper, then please recomend it! I am thinking something along the lines of a geared monster truck motor that is around $40.

Maybe an Astroflight cobalt 40??? Or is that a brushless?

AND Finally, I'd like a motor that under full strength can get way with the least amount of cells. Maybe 12, or 14 is the most I'd like to do with.

Thanx!
