I used a GWS IPS A motor with a 10 x 4.7 prop. HS - 55 servos, GWS pico RX, Castle creations 7 amp ESC, 8 cell 300 mAh NiMh packs. Zepron 3 mm foam for everything else... Hinged it with packing tape.
Had a lot of fun with it in Buffalo.... was out flinging it kinda late when it was almost dark... I was banking around a turn and got it skewered by a tree.... It was flying along then all of a suden... it just stopped mid air.... I couldn't stop laughing....
Over all it flew pretty good.... Had a hard time doing loops... and when I rolled it, it would stop when it got inverted.... I think it needs more power....

Man, what some guys will come up with to get a little stick time!
You can tell Paul isn't happy with just reading an RC magazine or dreaming about his next project while in the hotel, he has to have a transmitter in his hands!
Actually, you're quite creative.
Don't let any school kids find out about these or they will be flying them around in study hall.

Paul - Buffalo with do that to a guy <LOL> I know, I was born there <GRIN>
You ought to try out the Mini Gee Bee from Horse Fly Hobbies.

Simuliar to your PBF. Same equip. as you mini PBF. I test flew mine today with a rudder mod. that I added. Flat spins upright & inverted. Waterfalls, harriers, hovers, torque rolls. Its a ball, plus its got the CF rod protecting the nose like the UFO, but I like it better (IMO) Ck it out when you get a chance.

Kevin - I bought one before I built the Micro PBF... I didn't have time to build it and I didn't want to ruin it on the trip to Buffalo.... So it sits in my Garage awaiting some time.... I thought the same thing about the rudder... What motor, battery, servo's did you use? Can you post a pic of your rudder mod?

Paul - I went with AV8's option #2 set-up for my mini Gee Bee with an extra servo of course. Option #2 has the Li-On 560 mA, 3 cell pack, GWS PICO Std servos, ESC, GWS A motor, & GWS 10x4.7 elec. prop. Works great! I incorporated the rudder after trying to get the curvature out of the tail of my fuse. I tried to get it out during assy. without any luck. I test flew it with only 2 servos, and didn't like it. I then cut the rudder and rigged it out. It was great after that. I'll post a pic later, though it is ulgy since I cut my rudder after assy.

Ulf - look closely at the pic of the Mini Gee Bee upside down. You'll see the rudder servo towards the rear of the A/C. I just cut a slot in the bottom-side of the fuse and used servo tape to fasten it to the side of the fuse. I then used thread & a little thin CA to make up my Pull-Pull. The rudder is hinged just using cellophane tape (a.k.a. Scotch Tape) Worked Great!
Hope that this helps!

Kevin, where do you have your CG set on the little Gee Bee ? Will it still balance as per instructions with the rudder servo in that location, otr does the CG need to be moved back anyway ?
I am building mine right now. Goes together real quick.

Ulf - I balanced mine in the same location as the instructions without any issues. I mounted an extra long pc. of velcro for my batt. so that I could play with the CG. Lets face it, that extra PICO std. servo doesn't add enough weight to really worry about it.

Thanks Kevin. Mine will have a 9 gramm Cirrus servo for the rudder. About the same specs and size as the Pico Std. Got them on sale for $12 at my LHS. Couldn't resist. They where 30% off regular price.
Since I am new to all this electric stuff, I am not really familiar how everything gets attached, and don't want to screw things up. Can you post a close up picture of where your battery sits, and how your engine is mounted, as well as rudder servo. Thanks
