Has any one flying this plane have dead stick issues. Current set up is with an os 46 ax, with supplied tank. The engine runs fine on the ground, even when holding it upright, on the sides and with a nose down attitude. However when flying at 50% - 75% throttle, the engine cuts off on the down turn of the loop. Tried running the engine richer, but results are the same. The plane hovers fine. Have 1.5 inches of foam between the tank and fuselage , and could not appreciate " bubbling in the tank.
Had similar issues with the Kat v2 70 and mvvs 91 engine. Thought that I would have better results with an os !
Would appreciate all suggestions.
Thanks

Sure sounds like fuel foaming issues. Try a sintered bronze fuel pickup in the tank like this one. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXD741
Really does help with that issue.

Tried flying with a uniflow system in the tank, only to deadstick, once again, exiting a loop !
Was flying so far with the baffle removed from the muffler to get more rpm. Replaced the baffle and voila, the problem disappeared.
Wonder what the reason is.

Hey rhk,
If you want increased performance out of your engine without sacraficing reliability there's a couple options for you to try.
One would be purchasing a Tower Hobbies .46 replacement muffler.

And the second would be to build a mousse can muffler.
