Default Extreme 330 Review

HEY MORDEB:
Really enjoyed your review of the Extreme 330. I am so impressed that I ordered one from Tower. I was wondering if most of the weight difference on your model was attributable to the heavier engine. If not, where do you think you can save weight? Also, do you think the landing gear will stand-up well enough, or should I try to find a sturdier one?

Was the Center of Gravity you used for 3D flying the same as the plan?

I will be replacing a worn-out Global Profile Raven with the E330. The engine will be an ancient Magnum 45 pro with a "Magic Muffler" (similar to a Mousse Can). The 4.5 lb. profile Raven had unlimited vertical with this power plant.

I will let you know how it works out.

Default Extreme 330 Review

here's mine. just finished it and am planning to test fly tonight. This plane is super easy and fast to build. Here are my specs.

engine- os46fx
prop- 12.25x3.75 apc
CG-5"
Weight- I guessing about 4.5lbs
servos- futaba s3004
receiver- futaba 8ch
radio- futaba 9c- flapperons, static flaps/spoilers, dual rates.....

I'll post more of me flying......... this is my first profile. I have a feeling my Magic is going to collect some dust .........lol

Default Lightened Extreme 330

I was unhappy with the way mine flew and did this to it.

Has many flights on it and have thought about getting a second one to experiment with. The lighter plane flies much better than previously and have had to take a bunch of the mix out to correct the pitch coupling in KE..

Default Extreme 330 Review

i drilled a hole in the bottom of each landing gear leg, close to the bottom anways, probably 5 inches up and put a 4-40 rod running from one to the other and locked it on each leg, at least it won't spread! and it does spread pretty easily

Default My Modified Extreme 330

I liked the Extreme 330 but the fuse was a little short for me, so this is what I did to mine. I also used some graphite landing gear from Graph Tech RC. Much better than the aluminum!
