Default Modeltech Magic Engine choice

I have been looking into getting a new engine for the ol' Modeltech Magic. I have heard of people using webra .32's but I am having a hard time finding one in my price range. So I was thinking of a Fox .36 and was wondering if it would have enough power to fly it with decent vertical, it had a st .51, and that was a bit much, and I'm looking to keep it light in the front so I don't need to add tail weight. Mounted the servos on the tail, and the the ST it was still a little nose heavy for my liking. Any help would be appreciated.

Skater_719, I used a 46TT with moose can or a 46fx on moose. Great setup.. Brian

Yea, I've ran mine with a .51, .46, and even a .40la, and the LA still gave it vertical, so I was thinking a ball bearing .36 would be lighter and hopefully still enough to pull it straight up. Thanks for the input.

Ah now I'm second guessing myself, what kind of thrust can I expect out of a saito fa 45? Im guess the plane will weigh in around 4 pounds, but will that little motor be enough. And if not, would anyone be interested in purchasing it? hah, ah, I hope its enough.

I have one that I fly with a little Turnigy electric motor. the all up weight is about 3 1/4 pounds and it has good vertical. I bet the Saito 45 will work nice.

go for a quality 32, anything bigger is dead weight.
what's the point in having rocket like vertical if everything else suffers?
the Magic is not the lightest model for its type to begin with but compensates by being very robust.

Yeah, it's a cheap (~$8) fish scale. I think I picked it up at Sports Authority. It doesn't seem to be super accurate, but I trust it to within 1/4 pound or so.
