Default Profile Help: Advice on assembling

I have an OMP 540 FF and was what way should I assemble this?
Should I cover the wing and fuse first then assemble it? Or should I assemble it first then go ahead and cover it? And what way is the best way to glue the wing in??

Cover it before you assemble it. I've recovered my profile Hots 3 times now and it was way easier when i covered it and assembles it. And i used CA glue to join the wing to the fuselage.

How did you apply the glue. Did you just slide the wing in and drizzle a bunch of CA in? Was it thin, medium, or thick CA?

I uset to cover just the fuse, then slide the wing in and cover it, but now I cover everything,,,I leave a small strip of exposed wood in the center section of the wing...I glue it on with 30' expoxy...I slide the fuse over to one side, apply the expoxy, and then sldie it back in place and check alignment...I think take a papertowel with some alcohol and wipe off the excess expoxy

good luck , hope this helps

I do it the same way like Gator does. At the end it is kinda like assembling an ARF. Has been working OK for me.

Yep, cover first, then assemble. Easiest way to do it......

I layed a thick bead of gap filling Zap on the center ribs and slid the wing in the fuse and wicked some thin CA into the joint for added strength.

I used CA to join the wing to the fuse on one of my first profiles.... But the joint is very resistant to vibration that way... Came loose is a couple of months...

For such high stress area, never use CA. Use 30 or 60 min epoxy. Besides, why get stressed out when you can take your time to align and clean off the joints

I'm almost finished covering mine now. It would have been a lot easier if I'd have covered the components first, then assembled. I tend to have the bad habit of assembling first, then covering. It's a pain to do it that way.
