CF Gear or Crazy legs ?
well, I used to love the CF gear (mainly the look) on my profiles, but have had bad luck lately breaking them very easy. Since this get's very expensive over the time, I just decided to buy a pair of crazy legs. I do not really like the color to much, but like the way the mount and work and are plenty strong. The price is also very attractive compared to the CF gear. I think I will stick with those from now on.
Just wanted to see what you guys think ? Do you use or prefer CF, Crazy legs or perhaps the Dubro gear ?

I guess I'm just livin' right!
My poor ol' CF gear have survived numerous close encounters of the thud kind, and just keep on kickin'! The last "hard arrival" even broke the bottom bolt, but the gear are still just fine.
I did, however, recommend to a couple of buddies with CG Extreme 330's get some Tetherite gear for them.

CF Gear or Crazy legs ?
Let's see...
I broke the auluminum gear on both of my profiles...
I moved to the Dubro stuff on the Sledge.
First off, the part that mounts to the Sledge fuselage is about 1/3 the size of the stock stuff or the carbon fiber stuff. Mounting holes are about an inch apart...
The Dubro stuff is also very heavy, even compared to the auluminum. Probably 6 ounces for it all...
Then I broke them when I did one of my famous crash n' goes.
I've glued it back together and will wait for it to snap off again...
I've heard the CF stuff breaks easily. If this heavy stuff (I think it's made out of cement) breaks again, I'll have to find something new.
Anybody got a link for the Crazy Legs?

CF Gear or Crazy legs ?
Do the crazy legs come in different sizes? (thinking TACO gear).
I to have broke 2 pair of jeff's gear now one set was a complete mystery why it broke so easy(Jeff offered to replace that set), I did put the stock OMP gear on my ff540 and there was no difference in flight performance and those wires don't bend easily, but they don't look near as nice as Jeff's gear.
Jeff any chance of a redesign (wider at the top)?

Sizes
Hope I don't get "slammed" again for "promoting"!
1. Light Weight Standard KrazyLegs, 3-4 lb. planes, 2 bolt mount
2. Light Weight Tapered KrazyLegs, 3-4 lb. planes, lower stance, 4 bolt mount
3. Heavy Duty KrazyLegs, 5 1/2 lb. planes, 2 bolt mount
4. Heavy Duty Tapered Krazylegs, 5 1/2 lb. planes, lower stance, 4 bolt mount
5. GS KrazyLegs for the 80" Profiles, 9-15 lb. planes
Hope this answers the question!

CF Gear or Crazy legs ?
Ok now I get it, thanks. what do the lightweight tapers weigh? Lightweight standard weight?
And I also agree about you posting info, if it wasn't you it'd be someone else and since you make them you probably know best.
Thanks, and can I have a price list?

I voted for the Krazy Legs. That was the only thing that Gator didn't really test on my Ohio FF. Well, maybe a little bit.
I don't think a person should get slammed for answering a question. Blatant advertising, YES.
Give the the answer Ray.

KrazyLegs for Me
I vote for the KrazyLegs. They are strong and cheap.
Hey Ray, I like the TopCap.
Actually, it's mine (note the pilot) and that's a 15-4W APC on a Saito .91 and it still has 4 inches of clearance. With the stock gear I was coming close to grinding props.
I haven't done a stress test yet, but, like everyone else, I sure have bent my share of aluminum gear. These guys seem plenty strong.

I'm Krazy about Krazylegs!!
Really, I put them threw h*%%!
Once, I was hovering and the motor died! Just enough room to drop the nose, and pull out .
The fuse squatted to the ground and the Krazylegs sprung back to original shape! That was last year and I'm still using them. Before I sell the Top Cap, I'll put the originals back on!

We could do colors, but the pigment takes away from the nylon content! Rustoleum, Krylon or auto enamal works fine if you want to paint them.
FYI.
