long knife takes shape
i know its boring, but i need a backup for N-ville. decided to scratch out a modified knife...made the fuse 2 1/4 inches longer to improve the stability in hover. also thought it would help me learn the rolling harrier i saw Gator do.....should i make the elevator and rudder slightly larger for more leverage to overcome the added length? or is it a non issue?

I attached the vertical fin to the rudder on my knife.....I also dog-eared the outside corners of the ailerons to keep them from breaking in some of them misfortunate hovers...G

My Knife is framed up like Gators, with the dog eared ailerons and full rudder. An incurable case of SPADitis interrupted it's completion.....
I almost was thinking of doing that with my Knife (the longer fuse), but I had it framed up when I got the idea. I am really interested to hear how it goes.

B bill,
looks good, are you installing servos as per plan ? (see your hatches are on top) just seems like a pain to do it that way. your shop looks way kool(and much too neat) guess it has to be to build 7 sledges in 30 days! awesome
Verf,
wanted to make her a whole bathing suit out of transparent mono....she said i should make one for myself....no sense of humor
just about done with long knife will post some pics soon

Hacker - That looks great! Is that one of the planes that I'm going to fly in Nashville? <LOL> The bottom covering scheme looks like a modified slime job - Too Cool!
I did break down and rebuild my Aeron yesterday. I had to re-build the 2 outer right bays of the wing. It's going to be heavier (to say the least), but flyable. I just that to rig it out again and rebuild some servos. I hope to test fly her this week. I bought a new Futaba 9C, so it will have to be programmed too before test flight.
