One thing that'll help a lot is take it up a couple of mistakes high and try to hover it, but since you know you're going to blow it concentrate on blowing it and not losing any altitude. Once you can recover from any stupid attitude it gets into, get it down low and practice what you learned.

hmmm... the torque from the engine will yaw the plane left as soon as you advance the throttle...so you need rudder. you will have to use rudder. or you won't hover. it will hang for a few seconds and fall over otherwise, and you will fly off knife edge. just act like you meant to, like all the rest:D.... but then, knife edge requires rudder, too...

all wisecracks aside, you ask for instructions. we tell you. then you say you don't want to do it that way? sorry, dude, that's how it's done.

you see this picture? It is a kadet seniorita. I backed it down, and just powered up to hold altitude when this picture was taken. see it yawing left? I hit rudder then. otherwise it would be a pile of sticks in a plastic baggie!:D

Fishing line dude. That's what I do. I suspend my plane just below someone's that can fly a rudder, and it looks like I'm hovering too.

The rudder is most certainly useful but entirely over rated. I plan on learning the rudder someday but for now i will learn to hover without it. Consider the usefulness and how that you positively do not must have the rudder to hover.

You ask a legitimate question and especially in the ProBro area and people usually fall all over themselves to help you out.
