AR6 Q40 giveaway
Hello,
In an effort to boost attendance at the June 26, 27 NMPRA pylon race at Sepulveda Basin I am going to give one of my AR6 Endeavors to oneof the registered pilots there.
The airplane will be built, painted and delivered by me in timeto race it at the champ race in November in Arizona

RE: AR6 Q40 giveaway
O.K.
Now that the wife has cooled off a bit about me giving the first one away I figure it is time to give another away!
Come race at Whittier in the first weekend of October and have a second chance to win one. This will be the same as the Basin one, I will find out what motor you will use and get your numbers and then custom build and paint in time for the big Feb. race in Phoenix!!
So come race at both races and get two chances ( Same person can not win both )

Hello All,
The Basin race is going to be awesome, It looks like there will be around 70 entries! If you are at all considering going get registered to speed it along
It would be cool if someone local could figure out a local pizza joint to invade on saturday night for the serious bench race session.

RE: AR6 Q40 giveaway
And The Winner Is! John Busse, congrats!!!
I have his fuse joined in the mold and tail in vaccum bag. He will be sending me a new Jett motor as this will be the first one with that power plant and I will need to make a couple of changes to the install.
That being said I will be making 5 more that will be ready for the champ race in November. I have many people wanting them which is great but there will be no waiting list. I will post here and on NMPRA website when they are ready for motor install and paint, first come first served. I will get your motor choice and numbers and paint it with your numbers.
The airplanes will have motor mount, pushrods and landing gear installed the price will be 650 dollars plus shipping all that will be needed is to drop in a radio tank and wheels and go!
These airplanes are made out of molds made by me and not one computer aided or cut mold so some things are not perfect, that being said they are very fast and very user friendly. Of the four official races they have been to they have gotten fast time at 3 of them and the one other one was because I was the only one at that race with one and if you know me you know why it didnt get fast time at that one Icant fly! the last race they were at Gary Schmidt went a 59 and change and had one flite of 1:04 for 11 So I think they are ready.

RE: AR6 Q40 giveaway
Hello All,
Just wanted to share something, I knew that wood selection was important but didnt know HOW important it was.
As I wasnt real happy with the last bunch of wing skin wood that I bought I ordered some from another supplier, Lone Star Balsa.
I was very happy when I looked at it but even happier when I weighed it.
I took enough to make the wing skins for one airplane from the old supplier and the same amount from the new supplier and weighed it. I know that I only use about 1/2 of it and the rest is scrap but it should still get the wing to under 1 pound wih paint and servo. NICE! I can now use the weight somewhere else.
I just talked to Ken Busse ( the one that won the airplane) and he has a new Jett motor on the way to me and I will have his sons airplane ready for October Whittier race.
Dave E.
P.S. Three more are coming along nicely also.

RE: AR6 Q40 giveaway
Well Here is the give away airplane with fresh paint. Now all that is left is to get a radio and tank in it before the fall Whittier race.
Speaking of the Whittier race get those pre registrations into D. Gavin and lets try to out do the last Basin race.

RE: AR6 Q40 giveaway
Well just got back from the fall Whittier pylon race all went pretty well. Gave John Busse his raffel prize airplane, first pic is the hand off, second pic is after him and Jacob went and flew it, third pic is me trying to figure out what in the world I am doing here. John did pretty well with it until he figured out what Q40 bad air was all about around 2 and 3! Oh well him and his dad are hooked and will be at the Q40 race in Phoenix in March.

Dave,
It's too bad he had to learn about bad air in the first heat. Your airplane flies very good and is very well mannered. Thanks for letting me fly it on sunday, definitely made my weekend better!
Best,
Jacob

RE: AR6 Q40 giveaway
Well there was at least one "PRO" out there and it wasnt me! Although I did see that monster hiding over by the wall. He or She just jumped right out and smitted that airplane right into the ground! I felt so bad that he will have one for Phoenix in March along with the accomplished team of English and Buckwheat!
On a very good note the Jett powered airplanes out there were identical in speed to the Nelson powered airplanes the only difference was the pilots....Very encouraging
