Muffler bolt AX 46
Hi
Anyone having trouble with the center bolt on the OS 46AX breacking. Seems to be the bolt head only. What is the fix if any.[:@]

I've been through a few myself.
6-32 threaded rod and some nyloc nuts will stand up a lot better. You can use stainless rod if you really want to clamp down on the muffler. They leak like sieves, and the fretting muffler metal will leave a big black on the side of your plane, so there is plenty of temptation to bear down on the clamping nuts.
And, no, the nyloc does not melt.
You should be able to find the rod and nuts at your local home improvement retail establishment.

Hello
Most of the times I see muffler bolts breaking is because they are actually to tight. The heat from the muffler actually expands the bolt. Try not to tighten the bolt on so tight, and use locktite when you do so.
