e-bay quickies
I saw some quickies advertised on e-bay and since the seller was about 40 minutes from me and would sell directly I decided to pick one up and see what they looked like.
He is purchasing them directly from the factory in china. They are a well made arf that looks alot like the Dominator. I put the plane together yesterday. I did have one problem with the gear. It was cracked at one of the bends. No big deal just grabbed some from the parts bin. I notified the seller and he said he would look at the gear closer. Other wise the plane went together well and looks like a good kit. I put it together With 225s on the surfaces and a 81mg on the throttle, a 700nmh battery and airtronics 7 channel mini rec. I substituted a jet bladder tank for the included clunk tank and pizza cutters for the poker chip style wheels and it came out right at minimum on my scale. I am going to test fly it next Sat. and race it Sunday.
Best part is $60.00 plus shipping.
He goes by arf-hobbymart on e-bay. I did not bid on or have the plane shipped so don't know how that goes but my deallings with him have been very possitive. I have no affiliation just thought I would let you guys know about what seems like a pretty good deal especially for the new guy.

RE: e-bay quickies
Flew the plane this weekend. On saturday it was so windy that about all I could do is get it sort of trimmed and make sure it flew. Sunday I spent the day adjusting throws and getting the set up right. In the last heat it was going pretty darn good till I cut out.
I built the plane with out checking any incedences to see how they went together out of the box. It is carrying a little up trim so the stab could be tweeked to improve things. The plane flew very nicely. I will be picking up another. All in all I think this is a really good deal for a good flying plane.
This plane looks just like the predators that were at the field. One part that was different is that the wing mounting blocks were tabbed through the sides so they should be stronger.

RE: e-bay quickies
Well, four double-boxed quickees arrived today. Looked like a delivery from Harbor Freight! HEAVY boxes - both inside and out - much heavier than the ones we got from Lanier. This contributes to the high shipping charge, but it also kept the Brown apes at UPS from destroying them. Outside box is typical China freight, like you'd pack a drill press in - even banded! Inside is a plain white box that is also HEAVY. Shipping weight - 9 lbs! Did I mention the boxes are heavy?
Inside is what appears to be a Predator - except it appears to be improved. I don't know, maybe the last run of Predators was this good. Covering is perfect. Workmanship looks great. If these fly as good as they look, I'll be one happy guy!
The hardware is OK, but that is true of all the Chinese ARFs. Most folks use some and replace other to suit themselves. If you want to go race Sport Q500 and do it (dare I say?) CHEAP, this is a good start!
ONE THING, THOUGH!!!! There are NO INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDED. Guess you could use Predator instructions....If you're ok with that, go for it!

I flew with the c.g. at 2.75. Other than that not much needed as far as puting it together. The servo tray is in. I used the two small loose blocks to raise the wing servo. check the landing gear at the bends for any signs of cracks that was the one thing that I found.
