Default Predator II madien

Hi, I'd like to thank everyone who posts here for all the information on setting up and building Q500's. I figured i would share mine as well. I Recieved my predator 2 & TT.40 from tower on Wed and had it ready to madien on friday but the weather was a no go until today. Went out to the local field and threw it on the runway and punched it to see what it had. The plane lifted off and only needed 1 click of left aileron and no Elevator Trim and was flying straight and level at WOT. After reading some stories on the Arf's I was expecting to have some sort of incidence problem with the Vtail. I guess I just got lucky the only line up tool I used were my eyes.

But after the madien and a few other flight today to wring it out I went by my office to see how fat it was. Its weighing in at 3.90 is this a serious problem i plan to race it in some 424 events if i can find them and dont really know it .15lbs to get it to 33/4lbs is worth messing with with it flying so well. The current CG on the plane is around 21/2-23/4 from the leading edge.

I have a plane that is just as heavy, and I got 1rst and fastest time last year with it at a race. The new minimum weight for 2007 season for 424 is 3lb 12oz. There is a race in Mullberry march 31- april 1st, and in ft lauderdale (sunrise) I think april 22-23. the CG I use is 2 7/8 .

3.9 lbs is not a problem worth noting in 424. Your cg is however a little far forward. Normal for these things is 2 3/4 to 2 7/8. But again since a 424 is rolled to 30 to 40 degrees of bank or near level on the straights it's nothing to get exited about.

Yall I see what you are talking about djlyon. I wouldn,t try it on the first flight either. But I have been to some races where it was realy high winds and they still raced anyway. I prefer miled winds myself but if you don,t practic in the wind then you will not know what to expect on race day. Just my .02 worth.
