Default KCRC 424 Pylon Race – April 25th

KCRC is hosting a one day sanctioned AMA 424 race on the AMA 3-pole short course April 25th in Lees Summit, MO.

Last fall we drew 28 hardened racers to compete and have fun. And fun we had.

This season we will drop the fly-off round and replace it with another round of competition. That’s 6 rounds of hard fought action to bring home top honors.

It was reported to me last night a major invasion is planned from the Wichita area. These flatlanders are more then welcome, but should be warned they don’t stand a chance against the smooth skills and rugged good looks of the Show Me pilots of the great state of Missouri.

That’s right, the bench racing has OFFICIALLY started.

I’m anticipating we will we easily break the 30 pilot count at this race.

Please pre-register by sending the following information by e-mail to seaholm AT teamseaholm.com:

All this Missouri "smack talk" from a K-State Wildcat??? Must be the ol' OpenB combat genes surfacing again..

Gotta love it!

AJ wanted to know how to make things that work. He would have gone to the other place if he wanted to say "He's dead Jim", or sue them after the fact.

Gsjames,

Actually my brother is the K-state grad, I went to school in TX. But you're right about the smack, you can take the pilot out of Combat, but you can't take the Combat out of the pilot...

The Flatlanders have accepted the challenge and are pre-registering rapidly. Apparently, my attempts to express the futility of this effort have gone unheard. I have to give the flatlanders credit for their optimism and bravery in the face of such overwhelming odds.

Keep the pre-registrations coming, I'll get them posted on the KCRC website when we crack 15.

Well, those Wichita boys (like Mike Tallman... [sm=wink_smile.gif]) weren't scared off much in the old CL Combat days either... I guess they never learn. I flew at the KCRC site at Lake Jacomo and at Shawnee Mission Park when I was a kid. I'm glad to see that the sites are still active. I am just now beginning to get involved in Q-500-type racing. It's gonna be FUN! I'll start out this year with our local Q-25 but I've already got a TT .40Pro for 424 next year if I can handle Q-25, and Nelson .35 CL Combat motors are essentially the same as .40 racing engines so I'll know how to handle them if I ever get good enough for 428. It seems that combat pilots and racing pilots are very much the same type of people, both in RC AND in CL. And that's a GOOD thing!

Keep up the GREAT work you are doing in KC. And BTW, your Avenger OpenB is STILL awesome! Evan Wenger won the LSN AGAIN with his.

Since the 422 guys have raced in Florida this past weekend and were using "buttered cranks" and it was considered legal, I am sure it will now also be done in 428, can we do the same thing in 424 ?

Buttered cranks are not allowed in 424, Parkay is the only legal additive!!

I saw The Rocket today, it did look good, but mine looked faster. Then I went to fly some control line, stuck my finger in the prop, 7 stitches later, I went back and flew my Bullet. Got it trimmed out perfect. So hopefully we have a good turnout, with lots of victims for me and Dan. Weather sounds like it might be a little windy, but no rain til saturday night or sunday. By the way Darwin flew his yesterday, it looked good too. There were a few other quickees out there today, so kansas city will be well represented as usual. So we just need more out of town victims. See ya'll saturday.

Not sure I'll be ready, but I've got my fingers crossed. I've already been out of the country for almost a month this year, cuts into hobby time!

Duane, you're supposed to keep your fingers OUT of the props!

AJ, how many do you have registered already? Hope to see you there.

Just like you Dan ... Silence is Deadly ... you are the fart in the wind that we will all pass most days. You are my idol .... I will be there ... lingering down low when all the sudden ... BAM

I have come and gone and there you sit ... will tears falling from your cheek, wondering how it just happened to you. But I will have a big smile from the sweet smell of victory .
